Dangerous Faith by Joel Vestal
Dangerous Faith
Dangerous Faith

Author Joel Vestal believes that the faith of a Christian should be active, engaged, informed, and, yes, dangerous. In his new release, Dangerous Faith (NavPress), Vestal directs Christians in the pursuit of knowing and serving Jesus. Through his remarkable real life stories and passionate voice, he challenges Christians everywhere to live out the biblical practices of prayer, compassion, justice, simplicity and service in a creative and authentic way no matter ones age or vocation
.

Vestal goes on to tell Christians that in order to grow a deep, vibrant faith Christians need to be more active. Instead of simply discussing matters of compassion and justice on behalf of the world’s marginalized people – Christians should unite and become part of the Christ-hope and relief that changes the world one life at a time.

Even the most cursory of readings through the New Testament supports Vestal’s thoughts and shows that Christianity is an active faith, a service-based faith and, yes, a dangerous faith. Many first century Christians lost their family, health and even their lives following Christ. Today, however, Christianity seems to have been put in a Sunday morning worship-sized box, allowing Christians to worship every Sunday with little to no impact on Monday through Saturday. Simply put, however, many Christians want more!

“My goal is nothing less than to inspire and unleash a new army of workers around the world to serve Jesus among the oppressed, poor, and lost, and to further allow us all to be reminded that everyone is a part of God’s global purpose of seeing the Kingdom of God extended and embraced among all peoples of the earth.”
